A new product has arrived at the Abingdon showroom and we think this will be a great product for home sim users that are looking at a 4K projector option. The Hisense C1 packs a great punch for a compact unit. Now whilst we initially disregarded this 1600 ansi lumen projector (yes you heard me right just 1600 lumens) as we thought it would stand no chance with some ambient light I’m glad to say that we were totally shocked with how this projector panned out.
Now we know that ansi lumens v lumens are not the same and also the specs that manufacturers release can be somewhat not in line with each other (or a standard) so we also appreciate that we have to test all projectors in our showroom before we make a definitive decision on whether we think it would be suitable for golf simulator use.
This projector is very interesting as it is a tri laser and that homes in on the three primary colours. It really does make the image pop and when we turned this on with GSPro software the first thing we noticed is the projector really gave a sense of depth perception with the golf simulator software.
Another nice feature is the auto correction and focus. Whilst we found the auto correction done a reasonable job of fitting our Ultra Impact Screen we did need to do some manual adjustment to make it fit perfectly. The auto focus however is fantastic. This self focuses the projector so its pinpoint sharp image quality and takes it away from the installer. As we know manual adjustment for focus is only as good as the installers eye sight!
The projector also has built in apps so you can watch Netflix, prime etc without having to add any other device. A very nice touch from Hisense. It also has a built in JBL speaker and whilst this is as good as I’ve heard from an internal projector speaker, we found the additional Party Rocker Speaker which connects directly to the projector via Bluetooth is the perfect audio accessory for this setup.
So if you have a foresight, trackman, protee, skytrak, flightscope or uneekor system they will all work really well with this 4k projector in your golf simulator as long as you don’t have much ambient light.
